Qualcomm (QCOM) is set to power Microsoft’s (MSFT) next generation of Windows PCs with its artificial intelligence chips. Qualcomm COO and CFO Akash Palkhiwala joins sector Domination Overtime to break down the enterprise’s latest AI moves.
Palkhiwala explains that the Snapdragon X Elite chips will have three key new areas: “best-in-class” processing, long battery life, and an “incredible set of AI experiences.” Qualcomm announced more than 20 devices that will be enabled by the chip, which will be available soon for consumers to purchase.
“We’re uniquely positioned to be the primary beneficiary of that development in AI PCs, and we have a chip that significantly out-contributes any of our competitors,” Palkhiwala says. He adds that as the sector transitions, Qualcomm has an “opportunity to be a leader,” and explains that it is “the beginning of a new chapter.”
