Hello, community! I have been working in a fintech startup for the last 5 years. Lately, I have been closely working on accounting in the lending company. Got a chance to deeply work on a double-entry accounting system. Coming from a tech background, I loved the problems accountings solve.
Separately, I have been maintaining a Google Sheet to keep track of my holdings/investments/costs, etc. So far it is doing the job but it could be even more efficient if I try to do it on a double-entry accounting system. On the same path, I started working on an app that works on a double-entry accounting system, which keeps track of personal wealth. It does not track SMS/inbox to automate stuff as of now. Everything is manual currently. One has to punch in every transaction.
There are so many services already like Quicken, YNAB, etc, but they focus on budgeting and small ticket expense management.
I am just curious if I am on the correct path? if someone else also interested in such services?
